The organization's name is Mojahein-e-Khalq Iran in Persian
and it will be "The Iranian People's Mojahedin", in English, but the
organization itself uses "People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran",
PMOI. The word "Mojahed" is an Arabic word and comes from the Arabic
word "Jehad" which means "Holy War" and the word "Mojahed" means "The
Holy War Fighters". Its headquarters were in Paris but since 1986
they are in Iraq.

During this week demonstrations of the Iranian opposition group
Mujahedeen-e-Khalq we have seen its flag. Among the Iranian flags they use, it
seems they prefer the State flag of the Pahlavi dynasty,
1964-1979. This image was from a (now
unavailable) Yahoo News report of a demonstration in London on 18 June. This is
a little bit odd, because MEK ideology is a blend of Marxism and Islamism. So,
as Marxists, it was expected that they wouldn't favour a monarchic flag of Iran.

In 2003, Francisco Santos stated that the MEK utilizes the monarchic flag of
Iran from the Pahlavi dynasty. Although this statement is partially true, the
organization actually adopted its own specific variant of the flag several years
ago. The lion and sun emblem on the MEK variant is more glossy and "3D" in most
cases, and the sun rays and the lion's fur are spiky in some parts.

Many photos of the flag can be found at Wikimedia Commons:
https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki. Those taken in the 20th century do seem
to display plain tricolors only, but in those taken in the 21st century, the
flag seems to be always charged with the lion and sun.

The Army seems to use two flags: the Iranian three-color
(green-white-red) flag with Farsi writings on the inner edges and a
"mojahedin flag", a 2:3 white flag with a red device, shown
above.
The writing at the top of the flag means:"People's Mojahedin of
Iran", where "Mojahedin" means "Holy War fighters". The writing on
the bottom is a verse from the Quran, Surah 4 part of verse 95: "...
But those who strive and fight, ALLAH (= GOD) distinguished above
those who sit (at home) by a great reward."

According to freedictionary.com literally a "Mojahed" is an Islamic fighter
in battle against the army of his own country.
Description of logo:
Out of
a vice comes an erect naked arm ending in a fist. In the fist are crossed
sickle and gun with bajonette. Above the cross is a 5-point star. The whole is
placed into a circle representing the globe. On its right side is a wreath of
laurel(?). In the background is the silhouette of the Iran. Beneath the vice, at
the top of the circle and beneath the circle there are inscriptions.

The yellow flag has a red logo in its centre.
